Methods and advantages of improving the heat resistance of PVC

There are mainly several ways to improve the heat resistance of PVC:

1. Add heat modifiers: By adding specific heat modifiers, such as heat stabilizer, antioxidant, etc., you can improve the high temperature resistance of PVC to a certain extent. These modifiers can slow down the decomposition rate of PVC at high temperatures and maintain its physical properties

2. Blending modification: PVC is blended with other polymers with better high temperature resistance, such as polyvinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymer (PVC/VAC), polyvinyl chloride/chlorinated polyethylene (PVC/CPE), etc. The blended material can combine the advantages of the respective components to improve the overall high temperature resistance.

3. Crosslinking modification: Cross-linking structure is formed between PVC molecular chains by radiation crosslinking method or chemical crosslinking method, thereby improving its heat resistance and dimensional stability. The PVC products after crosslinking have higher mechanical strength, good dimensional stability, good heat deformation, wear resistance, chemical resistance and other properties than ordinary PVC products.

4. Add inorganic fillers: Adding a certain amount of inorganic fillers in PVC, such as alumina, silica, etc., can improve its thermal conductivity and thermal stability. These fillers disperse the heat in the PVC resin and slow down its thermal aging process at high temperatures

5. Glass fiber reinforcement: Adding glass fiber to PVC can significantly improve its heat resistance. Especially when 20% to 30% of glass fiber is added, the heat resistance of PVC can be increased to more than 100℃. The addition of glass fiber can enhance the rigidity and thermal stability of PVC resin. ~

Through the above method, the heat resistance of PVC can be significantly improved to maintain good physical properties and chemical stability in a high temperature environment.

The heat resistance of PVC material is one of its important characteristics. The following are several advantages of good heat resistance of PVC:

1. High temperature resistance :PVC material has high thermal stability and can usually be used for a long time in a temperature environment above 60℃. The modified PVC material can even withstand temperatures up to 100℃.

2. Corrosion resistance :PVC has strong corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of most acids, alkali, salt and other chemical substances, so it is widely used in chemical industry, environmental protection and other fields

3. Mechanical properties :PVC material has excellent mechanical properties

Can maintain strength and toughness at low temperatures, suitable for manufacturing pipes, panels, window frames and other products.

4. Insulation performance :PVC has good electrical insulation performance and can be used as an insulating material for wire and cable.

5. Plasticity :PVC has good plasticity and can be made into products of various shapes and sizes by hot processing, injection molding and other methods.

6. Environmental protection: Compared with other plastic materials, PVC materials are more environmentally friendly and have good recyclability and reusability.

To sum up, PVC material has been widely used in industry, construction, medical home and other fields because of its good heat resistance, excellent corrosion resistance and other characteristics.
